Give a new room a zest or refresh an already tired interior will help pictures made with your own hands. And you do not need to have a professional art education. It’s enough to have handy materials and a desire to create.

Ideas and instructions for making fabric paintings with your own hands

Paintings from fabric with their own hands can be made absolutely different. For example, draw a tree on a fabric base. It can be just an outline, outlined with felt-tip pens, and can be a full-fledged drawing with paints. On this tree instead of fruit you can glue buttons. It will look more interesting and fun if they are all different sizes and colors. But let there be something in common that unites them. Such a collage can be hung in any room of the house: even in the children’s room, even in the living room. To complicate the design, you can divide one tree into four modular paintings, which will be at the same close distance from each other. On the “button theme” you can come up with many more interesting shapes and subjects, show your imagination.

A composition of leather looks very effective. It is more difficult than the previous option. But if you train, it will be very effective. Leather must be natural. In this case, the material can be found in your own closet: almost everyone has an old leather coat, which was once beautiful, but went out of fashion or ripped. It’s a shame to throw away a quality piece, but you don’t have to! You can cut it into shreds and make a beautiful element of decor.

If you have on hand a large supply of cereal or coffee beans, you can make a themed picture in the kitchen. To do this, glue is applied to the base and grains are sprinkled. One variation is to make a likeness of a cereal, bean or coffee mosaic. To ensure that over time the grains will not fall out, cover the picture with varnish after the glue dries.

Patchwork and quilting

Since time immemorial, seamstresses sewed patchwork from the remnants of unnecessary fabric, turning them into a beautiful quilt, pillow, tablecloth. Later the idea was realized as patchwork. To make a beautiful piece of interior will be possible even for newcomers. They will come to the aid of schemes that are in abundance on many websites. To begin with, take not the most complicated patterns, to get used to.

Fairly common kitchen mittens, napkins and towels for the stove in the style of patchwork. Such colorful details will give the room an atmosphere of coziness. Patchwork textiles will look great in the country style.

Products in the technique of quilting have a decor in the form of beautiful ornaments of different shapes, which can be created by sewing and quilting different materials.

It should not be confused with quilting – a technique in which small pieces of paper are twisted into a form that is gathered in modular designs and glued to the paper. The pictures are airy, delicate, light, as if entangled in ribbons. Mostly, the quilling technique depicts butterflies, flowers, other plants, trees, portraits, seasons. Quilling paintings are suitable for kitchen design in the style of Provence.

Japanese technique “oshie”

The roots of an unusual and uncommon in our area “ose” handicraft technique is in the XVII century, in ancient Japan. In Japan, this ethnic art has long been a common part of life: children are taught needlework from school, and the necessary materials can be found in any store with similar themes. “Oshie” is a special kind of applique, which uses three-dimensional details, cardboard, paper and fabric. Themes of images are taken from life, mostly people, fairy tale scenes. The figure or animal can be decorated with embroidery, flowers. To make applications in this technique requires a special fabric “washi”, which does not break on the bends and has a high plasticity. Puppet images, flowers, three-dimensional volume – all this is characteristic of the Japanese “oshie”.

Denim art.

Paintings made of old jeans with their own hands are probably no less rare than “oshie”. The author of the idea is the British artist Ian Berry. He didn’t know where to apply his old denim items that were memorable. Now he uses strips of denim to create masterpieces that sell for fabulous money.

Wet cloth.

Decorating walls with wet cloth paintings is not often used. This unique technique allows you to make the picture voluminous, realistic and moderately fabulous. Knit fabric holds its shape perfectly, drapes and just can lay beautifully, and needleworkers have become adept at using it. The fabric is impregnated with flour paste and becomes malleable for the shapes you invented. Trees, their leaves and bark, running water, mountains look very interesting in this technique. After drying, you can use paints to paint the landscape.

Kinusaiga

The technique has some similarities with patchwork. This type of needlework uses fabric, pieces of which are laid on a canvas in the form of a picture. No needle, thread or glue is used in the work. The secret is very simple, let’s break it down step by step:

  • Draw an arbitrary picture on plain paper or take a ready-made picture on the Internet. In the latter variant it is better to sketch the main features of the picture, without a lot of details.
  • Make holes in the lines with a toothpick, putting a piece of styrofoam or polystyrene under the paper. The depth of the holes should be no less than 3 mm and no more than 7 mm.
  • According to these marks, roughly cut out figures from pieces of fabric.
  • Carefully tuck the scraps into the slots.
  • The picture is ready. Since the work does not involve the use of glue, needles and thread, beginners can easily master this unusual technique on their own.
